Process and Making - In Person

This course is designed to give entry-level students a basic knowledge of construction and fabrication techniques for model making. Students will train in the proper use of tools and safety protocol, including cutting and joining methods and the properties of a variety of materials. Students will learn to plan a project from idea through the finished object. The course provides the entry-level student basic knowledge of techniques for model and prototype fabrication. The student will complete a urethane foam & wood model using orthographic drawings. Shaping, sanding and finishing of various materials with the appropriate tools are taught, as well as preparing surfaces for paint, primer and graphics through final assembly.

Winter Semester: January 8 - May 4, 2024

  • PCS 132 A: MW 4-6:45 pm
  • PCS 132 D: TTH 4-6:45pm
  • PCS 117 G: SAT  8:30am-3:30pm with 1.25 hour lunch break

Dual Enrollment

High school Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors and recent high school graduates may take dual enrollment classes through CCS this winter and save 80% of the cost of the class.  The cost of the $4,995 class is discounted to $900 for students participating in the Dual Enrollment program. Classes are available online and as a hybrid of online and in person classes.

Build your portfolio, complete your prerequisites, and earn three college credits before you graduate from high school.  

Students will earn 3.0 transferable college credits.
